Welcome back to the start of a new summer season!!  We have so many things planned for this year already!!

To kick things off, we will be holding our rep team tryouts a whole month early this season, beginning on April 6th.

All tryouts will be held on Sunday afternoons during the month of April at Sussex Middle School.  To be considered for the rep team a player must attend theses sessions, to be assessed!  If you have a player who is interested in playing on a rep team this summer, they should make every effort to come to these sessions.  The goal of the early tryouts is to have the teams fully selected by the first week in May and have a month to practice as a team before competition starts.  The first session will be held by our technical director with the assistance of the coach, and the remaining three sessions in April will be held by the coach with assistance from our Technical director.

There will be a $25 non-refundable tryout fee, due before the tryouts start.  This will be deducted from your summer registration fee.  We are asking that players pre-register before April 6th.  I will be at the Middle School from 5:30-6:30 on March 23rd and 30th to accept early registrations as well as the first tryout date - April 6th.

I could not be prouder of the way our teams represented the club at Division 1 Provincials.

Fantastic results in terms of performance and development this season, culminating in 3 teams earning a place at the Provincial Finals.

All 3 teams had 1 win and 3 losses at the tournaments, but from the game reports and matches I witnessed, the players played much the better technical football, which will result in them having more success in the years to come.

For us to seriously step up the standard of our rep teams for next year and get all the KCSA teams at all age levels into the Provincial Play offs, we need to have as many as possible train throughout the winter.

For some that will mean attending KCSA Academy, for some it may mean being invited to train and play with the Southern Region and even Soccer NB Provincial teams. Whichever way, in order for the club to take the next step we need to evolve into a year round development club.

After spending my first year as Technical Director of KCSA, I see many young players with the potential to achieve great things in the sport, but it is down to you to take the opportunity.

If you want the success and the fantastic experience that our U14 girls, and U12 Boys & Girls have had this season, then you need to put in the hard work that they and their coaches have put in too.

Well done everyone at KCSA, enjoy a well earnt rest!

COME ON YOU REDS!

So far so good at Provincials.

So far so good at Provincials.

U14 girls won their first game 3-0 this morning.

The U12 Boys had a tough 6-2 loss yesterday and then bounced straight back with a very impressive 2-0 win today, they have another game at 6:30pm tonight.

The U12 girls won 3-1 this morning and despite dominating the game lost 2-0 this afternoon.

So far from the effort and standard of play I am seeing, I am a very happy TD!

COME ON YOU REDS!

U12 Girls progress to Final

Fantastic performance by the U12 girls winning their semi-final game 3-1 against Hampton.

The girls took an early lead through Riley Sullivan, which was followed by a long range effort from Tamara Gray.

Hampton scored a penalty just before half time to make it 2-1.

The second half was much the same as the first and eventually the pressure from the reds paid off with Riley Sullivan scoring her 20th of the season to make it 3-1.

The girls were in control of the game from start to finish and thanks to hard work, discipline and good shape they never looked like loosening their grip on the game.

Congratulations girls!!!

Player of the Week

Posted by Technical Director KCSA on July 8, 2013 at 9:20 PM Comments comments (1)

KCSA PLAYER OF THE WEEK

U10 Academy Eric Vershoor.

Eric's first two competitive games of soccer ever in blistering heat at the tournament in Gagetown, he was not the guys who scored all the goals or the player who had blistering pace or pulled the fancy tricks when the time was right.

Eric was put in the center of midfield and held his position always, he made good decisions with his movement, he made the correct passes which often lead to scoring opportunities and most of all he was always on hand to put in a big tackle to stop anyone coming through the midfield.

When approached by a player from the opposition after the first game, who said "Your team is really good" Erics reply was "So are yours and don't forget we are also hear to have fun and make new friends"
