Soccer Extension

Posted by NorahD on July 30, 2015 at 8:50 AM

Due to the weather cancellations we have had – we would like to extend the soccer season by one week. We feel the children deserve another week for the missed time we have had. Therefore, our BBQ and medal/certificate presentation will be held on Wednesday & Thursday  August 12th &13th at 6pm. All shirts must be returned that evening as well.

We would like to take this time to explain our weather cancellation procedure as I am sure some of you may be questioning things, and for that I apologize. Our weather cancellation policy states that once the weather network’s forecast states thunder and lightning we automatically cancel. We’ve been questioned as to why – well, a couple years ago a club in our province made a bad weather call. A child was struck by lightning and didn’t make it. We try over very best each and every soccer day to make the best decision for your child’s safety. At 4:30 every day – even if it’s sunny and beautiful – we check the weather. We make the call and immediately post on our facebook page, website and update our phone message. We do always apologize for any inconvenience but cannot apologize for trying to keep your child safe.

At this time we would also like to offer you a parent survey on the reverse of this sheet. Our program runs on a volunteer basis. Each coach, parent or student you see is a volunteer, someone who has stepped up to help us run our program. If our program is not up to standard as you see it should be, we would like to know. There is no way to make it better by sitting on the sidelines upset and not letting us know, we welcome all comments and concerns. As well if our program is great we would like to know!!

Pictures this year was a new venture for us! It was a new photographer and his methods were new and there has been some confusion. To order pictures you must email the photographer – Pierre Turnbull at

We are ALWAYS looking for new volunteers and would love to have all of you offer to help out! I do sincerely hope you’ve enjoyed your time on our fields, as I know we have enjoyed seeing your kids have fun!!

Thank you
